When I was first asked to speak on the subject of what SUCCESS in the area of HEALTH looks like from a biblical perspective, I felt the least qualified to do so.
After surgery and a physio-induced injury, I felt defeated. There was no way I’d be remotely qualified to speak on the subject.
But God has His ways.
Lately, as I dived into the book of Jonah, I’m reminded how often, unless we feel incompetent for the job God has called us to, we truly are incompetent.
Through my own journey in recovery, setback and healing, I’ve pored through writings on Job, Abraham, Jacob, Jonah to make meaning of suffering, only to find… wider knowledge of the theology of suffering doesn’t make us a better person.
I don’t have all the answers on suffering- why God allows it, why He allows good people to suffer more at times etc. But I do know that asking the right question has changed my life— “God, what are you teaching & showing me through this?”
Grateful for everyone who came down today and helped us sell out the books we brought- from the bottom of my heart, thank you 😭
