I didn’t expect to cry my eyes out on Christmas Eve, after I’d put the kids to bed. Then I realized- I wasn’t alone.
Christmas can be hard.
After a traumatic surgery and unexpected season that put pause on my life this year, I wasn’t expecting to deal with another physiotherapy-induced injury as the year drew to a close.
But here’s the thing- that’s what holidays can do to us. We think about what it should be, and torture ourselves with how far we are from where we wished we could be.
This Christmas, if you’re hurting, if you’re struggling, if you know what it means to be on a non-linear path to where you think you need to be, I want to encourage you that God knows. He sees you. He understands. ❤️🩹
But He’s chosen you, the way He chose Mary, to carry a burden because He’s planned something glorious to come out of you.
Isaiah 66:9 tells us, “I will not cause pain without allowing something new to be born.”
So this Christmas, whatever your circumstances and however you’re feeling, would you, like Mary, unassumingly, trustingly and wholeheartedly say to Him, “May it be unto me according to Your word?”
Blessed Christmas, sweet friend. 🎄 Tag a friend you want to encourage.
