Once in a while, I receive remarks questioning the clarity or impact of the work we’re doing here in Tanzania. I don’t usually feel the need to defend myself—I understand where those questions come from.
The truth is,
in spite of the daily challenges,
we carry on with our ordinary responsibilities —
teaching medical university students, mentoring interns, developing community health programs, and building partnerships with local NGOs.
Not everything we do can be measured in visible outcomes. But someday, all of it will be unveiled in heaven.
And maybe that’s enough—for on this side of eternity, we can rest easy knowing we don’t need to strive for the approval of men.
