Letting go is hard. Starting from ground zero is scary.
But holding onto the old is harder. Building on top of an old foundation that will no longer hold up a new season is painful.
When God called us to a series of concrete steps to prepare ourselves for the next stage of missions, I took a deep breath.
John 12:24-26 tells us, “Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds. Anyone who loves their life will lose it, while anyone who hates their life in this world will keep it for eternal life. Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me.”
If you’re looking unsuccessful to the world because of your obedience, because you’ve learnt to hold onto what ought to be dear to you loosely, I hope this encourages you.
Jesus looked like the biggest failure of us all. Yet, through that surrender, came the biggest fruit of all— that of His love.
