Our home hunt continues…
House hunting days often start filled with hope and anticipation, and end with disappointment and gratitude.
Disappointment, because so many homes here do not have what we consider the basics of a home we need… and gratitude, because it makes us realize that only God could have picked this guest home of our Norweigian friends just for us in this season.
It is super simple, but it is one of those rare homes here that have sealed windows, which embodies so much of what we need – peace, safety and connection.
Speaking of safety and connection, I’m really excited to bring to you a very special podcast season next year on trauma recovery through a faith based lens. I’m working on it to bring you insights from the best experts around the world.
I just did my first interview with one of the pioneers of nervous system regulation and I’m so grateful to have the chance to do this for and with you.
I know it sounds insane that we might not have a fixed home for many more months ahead (a friend wants to hand down their home to us when they return overseas in July- 10 months away!) but the more I delve into this work on safety, connection, trauma recovery and nervous system regulation, the more Cliff and I are so convinced that we did the right thing to move out of an unhealthy situation.
For those of you afraid to leave your situation because you’re afraid to be in limbo (like us now), know that limbo leaned into God’s bosom is far more secure than thrashing about in chaos and stress.
We’re in limbo, but we’re so grateful to learn to live in daily gratitude for what we have. Because of our increased sense of safety, connection and peace, our work capacity has increased so much more. From a cup that’s filled, we can give from an overflow.
💛
