If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by advice, I hope this encourages you to press in and dig deep to hear God’s voice for you.
It was a friend who told me, “Advice is never a numbers game- sometimes, it’s the lone voice in the wind that is the Lord’s way.”
As I draw from 2 Chronicles 18, know that I’m not saying every well-meaning voice is false. I’m not saying God will smite us viciously when we hear Him wrongly. I’m not saying that following God will immunize us from suffering and hardship.
What I am saying is this- there will be times that the lone piece of unpopular advice is the one He has for us. We’ve got to press in and discern His voice through the noise.
For when we choose His ways, no matter how unpopular it might be, you can be sure He will lead you into the center of His will.
Psalm 84:11 says,
“For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor; no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless.”
