Sometimes, the most important work we do in ourselves can be the most painful— especially if it requires deep ploughing.

But if we look at the big picture, we can remind ourselves that for every space dug and tilled, is a space brimming with the possibility of growth and renewal.
Imagine the harvest!

Lately, people have been asking if we plan to travel, and in particular, travel back to Singapore. Missionary friends advised us to take a break outside the country when we could.
All this while, Cliff and I have felt we could 挡 (slang to mean “withstand”). We wanted to sink our roots here deep, and didn’t feel the need to travel back home for a visit so soon.
But as time passes, we also realize the toll it takes to live in a developing country, and how needing rest, refreshment and recalibration in a different setting is not wrong, but at times, needed.
Over the summer break in mid June- mid August, our kids will be out of school. Because we don’t have family support here, we likely will have to take some sort of leave from the hospital too.
So we’re praying – for God to guide us where we should go for some rest, reconnection and perhaps, some meaningful ministry. A place our souls can feel cared for.
Would you pray with us?
💛
My heart longs to be in a place where I can feel relentlessly safe again.
