In case you thought I’m a Supermum… it’s really not the case.
We live in seasons.
And very often, what we chance upon on someone’s highlight reel are the snippets of summer in their lives.
But hey, I went through winter too.
Winter is hard, dreary and boring. But it’s only season where drought forces one’s roots deeper into the ground.
That was my SAHM year after I delivered my 2nd baby. I didn’t “serve” traditionally in a church programme. I didn’t work. I was barely surviving trying to get enough sleep!
Even when I returned to Singapore and started working, I didn’t attend cell group for a season.
For years, I did not preach a single sermon except through the testimony of my wiping snot, cleaning poop, and keeping my sanity.
Friend, always remember:
1. Life is lived in seasons.
2. Never let anyone guilt trip you into serving in ministry.
3. Remember that loving on your littles is a form of service, which is the root word for ministry.
Here’s bringing back a piece I’d shared earlier: https://saltandlight.sg/service/are-you-a-couple-with-young-kids-serving-in-ministry-this-is-what-i-wish-you-would-know/
So to answer this question, it’s not about “doing it all,” but learning to live life one season at a time, a day at a time.
Taking time to breathe, not compare.
And to rest in the knowing that God’s in control.
He loves you.
