It’s so easy, I realize, just to let the world pass you by.
You could be taking an exam, planning a holiday, falling in love…
when something absolutely groundbreaking and earthshaking happens,
literally.
The greatest beauty and tragedy of the matter is how our lives go on.
Life, in the rest of the world, goes on.
Even with people dying and losing and desperately falling away,
and fighting and defending and clinging onto life
and protecting their loved ones
through self-sacrifice in nuclear plants.
I am learning.
Don’t let the world’s tragedies pass you by with you unchanged.
There is a difference you can make through prayer,
or through giving, however small.
Because when you do, you are changed.
You bring hope. And light. And encouragement. And solidarity.
And part of the world changes with you, too.
“For God is not unjust so as to forget your work and the love which you have shown toward His name, in having ministered and in still ministering to the saints.”
-Heb. 6:10
