Loving this board game made by our 8-year old… amidst the simplicity of life in a small town in Tanzania.

Grateful for a simpler, quieter pace of life here this season, even if it does come with leaky roofs and (gratefully), a number of upcoming projects!
I love these moments we’d never get to enjoy had we not embarked on this wild journey —
Our children learning to make chapati by our African friend 🥹💛

In our small town where nice gifts are hard to find, this gift of lemon thyme from a local friend goes deep. 💛💛💛

Feels surreal to finally feel more at home here in East Africa, and always thankful to eat my Tanzanian rendition of 菜饭 (rice with sides) at the hospital canteen daily.

Lately, even as our work bears fruit, even as we receive more invites from different schools and sources to help with training and teaching… I’ve felt less and less need to “showcase” what we do.
There’ll always be people who think we’ve wasted our time and lives here, and those who don’t.
And I’ve realized- trying to prove ourselves will never change their minds.

What peace to finally arrive here!
