To those of you who have been healing and telling the truth about your story, remember—
there will be haters.
Some will be people from within the very systems that harmed you.
Others will remain anonymous.
Often, they will confront in you the very things they cannot yet face in themselves.
As I receive yet another anonymous troll—one my family suspects may be the same person from last year—we are largely shrugging it off with indifference because we remember:
Criticism offered without accountability, relationship, or courage does not deserve the same weight as criticism offered in good faith.
Reflection? Yes.
Discernment? Absolutely.
But not all voices deserve equal access to your heart.
I hope you will count your growing indifference to unhelpful voices as a deep victory.
Healing does not mean becoming unaffected by criticism.
It means becoming increasingly able to discern which voices are worthy of your attention—and which ones you can simply leave behind as you continue walking forward.
Some people can’t bear the sight of you blossoming in your healing.
Keep blooming, in spite of them.
Keep blooming, anyway.
