Finding the source of the leak or blockage continues…
Nonetheless, I was surprised at how dysregulated I felt last night, by a number of unexpected things… a friend reminded me, how stark the contrasts between Oxford and Tanzania are, and to be exceedingly kind and gentle with myself in these challenging transitions.
I am always amazed by how broken and beautiful everything here is.

Finally… the plumbers found several of these Medusa-like roots that had grown into the water pipes under the ground…

While I know it was a big step forward in getting to the root of the problem (pun all intended)…
There is still no water.
In times like these, God has been quietly showing us His goodness in so many different ways- the cool weather, blue skies, sights of Kilimanjaro, a community of friends caring for us (offering us their washing machines and showers), and the challenge for life to continue to go on as we serve here with a deeper understanding of the beauty and brokenness of this land.
Being here grows a gratitude like no other.
