Some days I really wonder why is it that so many other couples and families who’ve moved here have found their “forever homes” so easily, within the first week while we continue to wrestle after weeks here.
Are we difficult? Holding impossible standards? Too naive? But I want to believe, God is doing something intentional in our lives. He’s putting something deep in our spirits, something we’ll need for this journey.
Every day I’m in our new home, I feel overwhelmed with gratitude for being here to serve, yet disappointed by the landlord’s decision to double the rent which makes it untenable for us. But I tell myself- why let the worries of tomorrow cloud the joy and gratitude I can have for today?
So I want to keep staying immersed in the present and tell myself what my children tell me, “You’re doing great.”
Maybe, you ought to tell yourself that too today.
Whether you believe it or not, take a deep breath and say to yourself,
“You’re doing great.”
