At the risk of being misunderstood, I share this in the hopes of bringing clarity to those of us who need to repent, to be affirmed, or move on.
If this stings you, repent.
If it affirms you, press on.
If it propels you to take action, move on.
James 2:17-20 says, “In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead. But someone will say, “You have faith; I have deeds.” Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds. You believe that there is one God. Good!”
Taking a leaf from this- if you’re struggling with people who say they love and care for you but whose actions don’t match up, know that love, like faith, ought to be expressed by one’s actions, more than words.
From someone whom words mean the world to, I say this not lightly- but compared to actions, words are cheap. If you need to call someone out, do it kindly in love, but firmly.
Today, by God’s grace, Im surrounded by people whose passion AND commitment have blown me away, time and time again.
Don’t make the same costly mistakes that I did before. May this bring you clarity.
