“You’re very intense, Wai Jia.”
I’ve heard that many times. But it is only with Cliff that I dare retort with a frown and grin, “So are you!”
Jokes aside, it’s not hard to see in my life a recurrent pattern of increasing intensity giving way to seasons of injury and burnout, reflecting my struggle in pursuing my passions while putting God first.
My question for you today is— is there something, if taken away from you, would hinder your ability to praise God? Is there something competing for your time, affections and space? If there is, pay attention.
Because if we can’t praise God when life falls apart, it means our inner life has ALREADY fallen apart.
If we don’t put Him first, then out of His LOVE (not punishment!) for us, He could take away what we put first ahead of Him. 💛
I hope this encourages you to offer the sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving, no matter what life throws at you. 💛🔥
