I looked at my list, proud and pleased.
Then, horror swept over my face.
I blinked, over and over, as the epiphany hit me.
As I reflected on the year gone past to recalibrate new rhythms moving forward, I realized, that for so long, I’d planned my schedule according to my new list of priorities— but backwards.
Serving others in an unpaid capacity always seemed to come first, followed by my paid work… and when all was said and done, I’d schedule my kids and date time with Cliff all around the cracks and crevices left in my calendar.
As this revelation hit me, brick by brick, I let out a sigh of relief.
Awareness is the key to change, and my hope, is that by sharing my discovery with you, that you, too, may start the year not by filling your calendar with appointments and meetings, but first, by deciding what and who means most to you. 🙏🏾
From that anchor, may your life and its allocation of time be a reflection of what you value most. 💛
*Thank you @cliff.tam for always being a special compass to me, and for encouraging me to share this here 🎁
