You would have thought we’d be better prepared for subzero temperatures.
But we came with few winter clothes.
Five years ago, in my third trimester, I remember tearing up as I visited my first friend in Canada, who unexpectedly gifted me my first winter coat, only to have me step out of her home into the first snowfall of the season- as if God was telling me, “I will always provide for you on the other side.”
Just like how we drove into our first apartment in the States with just a tiny grocery bag of baby rompers, only to have our new neighbor deliver a brand new crib and 3 trash bag worth of baby clothes for our 6 month old.
This time, on a day with heavy snowfall, my heart broke seeing the glee on our children’s faces, knowing we didn’t have sufficient warm clothing for us to enjoy it outdoors. Our clothes were not warm enough. We had no appropriate shoes.
So how I teared when I discovered, that Cliff’s friends had pooled together winter gear for our kids, even winter shoes that fit perfectly (what were the chances?) and lent us sleds for them to play in. I cried knowing our kids had prayed for two years to come back to where they were born in to enjoy snow as they last saw it.
For every bridge we’ve crossed with nothing, I’m grateful that God has always met us on the other side, showing us how much He cares- even for the little whimsical prayers of little children.
If you’re reading this, know this- He’s not too busy for these little ones, and He is not too busy for you. 💛
Thank you @ssyl1 @jennahontas1 @stephanie.lam_ and many more for being such blessings. 💛🥰
