I once read- that
REST is the exhale needed after 6 days of inhale.
It struck me the other day-
How one of the things that has distinguished my workouts here is the time I have to stretch and do muscle releases.
Back home, the norm is to maximize every minute on something “productive.”
Lift heavier. Run faster.
Do more.
No time to waste.
That’s how I snapped my hamstring in a Grade 3 tear and landed in a wheelchair in 2010.
This year-end season, I’m learning to let go of some of the frenzy to pause and listen.
This year-end, what if you revisited all your greatest fears and discomforts by doing less, slowing down and taking the time to release the pressure points that need relieving?
I am learning- that the best way to grow our stamina might just be to REST.
