One of the hardest things I’m learning-
Is that you could try your very best, and still have something go wrong.
When those things happen, it’s easy to conclude:
1. I’m so stupid.
2. God must really dislike me.
3. I’m just nobody.
When in fact, bad things happen to good people all the time.
When Nehemiah tried to rebuild the wall, people tried to kill him.
When Zerubabbel tried to rebuild the temple, people mocked him.
When David grew into his kingly leadership, Saul tried to spear him.
I’m learning- how not to let discouragement crush me, by pushing back.
You and I, we can push back.
Recently, I’ve kept reminding myself of Noah and his ark.
When God told him to build it, all he had was a blueprint. But he’s never built an ark in his life!
In the same way, there are a lot of crazy things we may be asked to step out in faith to do which we’ve never done before.
But COURAGE is what grows us.
Overcoming mistakes strengthens us.
It is in the buckling down to do the work that we develop focus.
Don’t be distracted by naysayers.
Don’t fear that your ark might sink.
Keep ploughing. Keep building.
Promise me, you’ll give yourself and God that.
