Many of us look from the outside at the glamorous lives people live doing international humanitarian work.
My time here has only shown me how unforgiving it can be on individuals, couples and families.
Many who thrive are single, divorced or in non-committal relationships.
The question I ask once again is-
If this is something you value so highly and dearly, it’d only be fair to share this upfront, as early as when you start dating.
Humanitarian work is not a hobby. It’s a way of life. And it’s up to each individual to calibrate what works and what doesn’t.
I’m learning, how common divorce and fragmentation are among humanitarian workers. So stay centered and grounded on what matters. Keep His perspective always.
