For months, ever since my girls grew out of their old white dresses, I’d been praying for matching dresses for them for our 10th wedding anniversary photoshoot round the corner.
With high hopes, I trawled through hand-me-downs given to us, but to no avail. I didn’t have time to shop. I sighed.
How surreal it was then that Audris, the founder of @paradigmshiftlabel, which advocates for ethical, environmentally-responsible production should reach out to us to request a family shoot for her label, and offered to gift us not one, but two sets of matching dresses for the girls— and for me too 😭😭
As she gifted us the second set of blush-colored dresses, on top of a beautiful mint-green set, I felt goosebumps all over me as I felt God say, “I’ll always provide MORE than enough.”
As a budding entrepreneur starting this social enterprise to help women-in-need and promote sustainable practices, my heart ached for the generosity she displayed.
“Please let me pay for the 2nd set of kids’ dresses,” I said.
“No, it’s a gift.”
“How much does a kids’ dress like this cost?”
“$49.”
I gasped— because an epiphany hit me. Just days ago, an IG follower reached out saying God had spoken to her to gift my girls something- anything! I did not reply because we were content.
At that moment, I knew to reach out- “Would you bless this budding ministry by purchasing the second set of dresses for my girls?” That way, it could be a gift for them AND a blessing to the budding label.
“Yes, of course!”
I learnt – that God uses us, in community, to bless one another in deep ways that we, alone, cannot. If God’s speaking to you today to release a random act of kindness to someone else, be brave. Do it. You never know what it might mean to them 🥹💛 Let’s be bearers of extravagant generosity, as God has been to us🥲
*Special thanks to Audris and Josh for the privilege of modeling for your label 🥹
