My heart filled with regret.
Did I imagine it? Make it up in my head?
Too dark for a video, I caught a glimpse of a scaly tail before it slinked into the forest.
Months later, I still wondered if I’d really seen the rare-sighted pangolin. “Maybe it was just a common monitor lizard!” I thought.
But today, as I turned the corner on my pre-dawn morning run, there it was.
The biggest, longest pangolin I could ever imagine crossing my path, ambling across a luxurious pool of light from the street lamp. Just like the one in our Singapore Zoo conservation children’s book.
Nearly as long as a park bench, it looked larger than life, far bigger than what I’d imagined.
I stood in shock, overwhelmed by God’s love.
Not a soul was in sight.
No one knew. But He remembered.
He even thought about the lighting so I could get a good video. 🥲😅😭🥲
I’d prepared a different workout this morning. I meant to be on a different route. But God woke me up early, sent me on a way I did not plan.
I came home, tearing up. It was just an animal sighting- no biggie to some people.
But it meant the world to me, to be in the path of this rare endangered species, to know God knew my heart’s prayer.
In your life, has God ever surprised you with answering a little, overlooked prayer? You might think- why would God care about that, a little whimsical prayer of your heart?
But He does. He cares because He is God. He cares because He loves you. That’s how personal He is.
Think about a time He surprised you. I’d love to know ❤️🥲🙏🏾
