Earlier this year, I picked up my brush after a 20-year hiatus from Chinese Calligraphy. It was an art-form-turned-discipline I’d felt enslaved by, and I thought I’d never return to it.
But I did.
Only this time, in picking up my brush, I regained a sense of freedom, and my hope is that my story of redemption would likewise encourage you to let God restore your brokenness into something new, too.
This year, I was moved by your personal stories—
“I gave 恩 (grace) to my child so she will remember God’s grace upon her life as I named her so.”
“I gave 家 (family) to my Dad even thought we have an awkward relationship. It was a way of building a bridge.”
“I hang 梦想 (dreams) above our dining table where my husband and I chat, reflect and dream about our future together.”
“I bought 新 (new) for myself to remind myself God can make all things new.”
It reminds me— that one of the greatest gifts we can give to someone at Christmas is a reminder of their worth, and an invitation to step into a Christ-centered journey.
This Christmas, if you’d like to gift a gift of hope, faith or love to someone special, I’m grateful to share with you that these pieces are now available in a smaller 40 by 40cm size for cozier homes, in modern Christmasy golden frames or traditional mahogany frames for an early CNY gift. 🧧
My prayer is that in every home these paintings are hung in, you may be inspired by the characters and their Christ-inspired meanings expressed in the synopsis.
