“Would you like to come?”
When I was invited to the home of someone who’d purchased large replicas of my artwork 信 （Faith),望 (Hope) and 爱 (Love), my heart swelled. This wasn’t just anyone, but someone special who’d walked into my life when I’d lost hope.
Over a decade ago, during a dark, dark season in my life, we’d crossed paths. I’d given up, but through her gentle words, she deposited 信 (faith) in me for God to part my Red Sea.
Sadly, we lost contact. Years later, I’d longed to tell her the turn my life took because of her, but never had the chance to.
Now, fifteen years later, to have the chance to see my artwork 信望爱grace her home, made my heart swell with gratitude.
When I look at the character 信, meaning Faith, I am reminded, how it comprises the character 口, meaning mouth.
Isaiah 55:11 tells us, “So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.”
Do you believe that when you speak a word of faith over someone else’s or your own life, that you release His faith over them, too?
To see the character 信 at her home’s entrance (入口）, I’m reminded how it’s a reflection of her family’s commitment to declare their faith in their coming in and going out, and how her words inspired me to live with faith— they changed my life forever.
