Today, when I picked up a set of weights, I realized, “I’d never have dared to pick these up before.”
I realized- how often we look back at our limitations, and let those define our abilities.
After being away for 6 weeks, I simply forgot what I used to lift.
But when I look back at an old video like this one, I realize- I’m definitely lifting heavier now.
I’m learning, that too often we tell ourselves, “I can’t go through this again- I barely survived the last crisis.”
When the fact is- we’ve become stronger precisely of the crises we’ve been through before.
If you, like me, are facing a recurrent setback, if you’re feeling dumped, crushed or discarded, know this- you are a different, stronger person from before.
Forget what you used to lift, and be surprised at your new strength.
