“Can you write for us?”
I got off a call with the World Health Organization in Geneva and partners from Africa last night, heart shaky. “Yes,” I said—
— only to find myself steadying my heart for an early 6am zoom meet today with my publisher from the States.
“You have a lot of writing ahead of you,” Cliff said. He was right.
The past season, and the one ahead- looked like hard work.
“The book launch will be in March 2024 in the States,” the publisher said.
“2024?” I hadn’t seen that figure, much less thought much about what I’d be doing then.
On both calls, i was walked through detailed timelines.
As I reflected on where I am, and where I needed to be, I grew anxious.
Only to remember that truly, God’s dreams take time. 💭
An oak tree takes years to grow from a seed. 🌳A baby takes 9 months to form. 🍼Jesus took thirty years to ready Himself for intense ministry. 🙏🏾
We all have seen supernova projects birthed out of nowhere. Rarely, do they have lasting outcomes.
Perhaps this is the principle of the Kingdom. That birthing God’s dreams, requires His pace and His time.
It requires a trusting, even when nothing seems to be moving or changing. One has to trust that the baby is growing inside one’s spiritual womb.
So if you’re taking a detour, if you’re appalled by how much work it’s going to take, know this- the journey will be worth it in the end.
Do it anyway.
