“This is our wedding picture.”
Having met my mother-in-law in person for the first time only on our wedding day, I never got to know the amazing person she was and is until we visited her home in Canada a year and a half ago, after our wedding.
There, on her black couch, over albums of her black-and-white wedding photos and stories of her life, was where I saw the strength, determination and love of a couple who weathered many storms to bring up two amazing children, one of whom became my husband.
As we celebrate our 2nd anniversary today, away from home, we are filled with joy and gratitude for having the support of both sets of our parents for us to be in the mission field, here in Africa.
We pray that our marriage, like theirs, shall triumph over many storms in the years to come, too.
