Saying goodbye to family in Canada wasn’t easy.
As we both sat in the airport waiting to start the long journey back to Singapore, we both gave each other knowing looks- gratitude for a fruitful time of rest and restoration, and also bittersweetness in our hearts for having to say farewell before our next journey ahead.
But I simply had to hand it to the husband who very cheekily and proudly presented his cheeky present of surprise as an encouragement…
The Dandelion Joke was an in-joke of ours since I found them so pretty
but he insists I don’t understand how much of a pesky weed they are to Canadians!
I have to hand it to him for personalizing every Hallmark card he’s ever given me with his trademark cheesiness! Couldn’t help but double up laughing, and be amazed at how he even found this card. Since we were dating, one of his favorite lines to say to me, a few times each day, has always been, “I love this face of yours!”
What touched me even more that even though each of us had not told the other, we had BOTH planned surprises to give each other at the end of the trip to encourage each other for the journey ahead.
May the Forest be with you! (more of a Canadian kind of joke!)
Thankful to be journeying with you, Cliff.
(Guess what, yours is my Favorite Face too!)
