While transiting out of Tanzania, I got a note about how our family was wasting precious resources— how “all that money could have gone to the poor.”
It stung.
Especially since, on a day-to-day basis, we wrestle with spending on ourselves.💔
Is the financial, mental, and physical expenditure on our humanitarian journey even worth the impact we make? Perhaps we didn’t deserve this break?
But as we experienced God’s lavish goodness, we felt the carpet pulled out from under our feet.
God showed us that His kindness knows no bounds—
that His goodness does not depend on how much we’ve done for Him,
but on His grace toward us.💛
1️⃣ None of us expected a majestic, rustic beach right outside our new abode, where God would heal our souls.
2️⃣ Never in our wildest dreams could we imagine strangers gifting us a break through their vintage, art-filled beach home—a place of refuge and beauty—because they wanted to refresh our souls. 😭
3️⃣ How could we have known that the first giant rainbow arc we saw across the sea on our first morning here would be the first of 18 rainbows and 4 wild dolphin sightings— God’s intimate encouragement after our season of storms?😭⛈️
4️⃣ Your incredible support for Dragon Lady in Perth.
5️⃣ My girls playing for hours in the cold sand, amidst kind dogs on the beach, rewiring my cPTSD healing.
6️⃣ Receiving incredible kindness here—like balloons gifted by a stranger on the street and meals with new friends.
7️⃣ Tho I’d secretly desired an outdoor family shoot, being turned down by 2 photographers due to our location and bad weather, and the cost of it made me almost give up. But unexpectedly, a pro photographer drove over an hour just to capture our family for free, saying, “God inspired me to.”
8️⃣ A deepened intimacy with Cliff.
9️⃣Our family, feeling hopeful about returning to Tanzania—even with an uncertain, impending home move—as we remember God’s goodness.
To each one of you who loved on us and considered your expenditure on our family not as waste but as love— we’re so grateful.💛
It reminds us—
The same good God of rainbows here is the same one who follows us back to Tanzania.
See you, Perth. 💛 Thank you for loving us.💌
