Something I’ve learned to really love and enjoy doing is gifting each of our girls a special gift with a card and a matching verse… especially on big days like first days of school, test days or very simply, a day like this when we feel even just showing up to school amidst so much transition is a win!
My 8-year old recently had her ears pierced and so this was paired with a pair of ear-rings made by a friend, paired with the verse ““Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice saying, ‘This is the way; walk in it.’ (Isaiah 30:21)”
And a message,
“May these earrings remind you that God is your shepherd and He walks beside you.”

Since every child is so unique and my girls love to receive gifts unique to them, I gave my 6-year old a wooden spoon made by a local artisan.
Her verse reads—
“Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in Him. (Psalm 34:8)
And her message reads—
“With every spoonful, may you remember how sweet God’s goodness is!”

I hope they’ll always remember how loved they are.
