Grateful today for many things—
- In spite of discovering more complications from Cliff’s condition, that he’s under the best care we can imagine by specialists here, who are my friends and professors. (This is a glimpse of a clinic we visited at our small town, one of many that conducted only some tests we needed and couldn’t deliver accurate results.) It breaks my heart to know the limitations of healthcare for the locals, and how so much remains to be done.

- In spite of the high costs of medical care without insurance due to his condition, I remind myself of the many ways people have poured into our lives, including the current home we live in, which we’d otherwise have to pay thousands of dollars for.

- In spite of our girls being very sick, it’s helped them reframe their departure- that they would have missed their graduation week anyway from their fevers.
- In spite of a great sense of disorientation, that another friend came to pick me up for a walk today, and a few more reached out for walking in the coming days. (Insert pic)
- In spite of many things to adjust to, that a friend dropped off items we’ve been needing- even without us telling anyone.
This random array of items is a bewildering display of how crazy God can be when He speaks to His children- items for our children to occupy them while they were sick, kitchen towels (to wipe off vomit urgh) and ziplock bags were exactly what we needed. And a stack of sticky notes I’ve been wanting to write love notes to my children was on my secret wishlist! Many of these items can’t be found in our small town in Tanzania- to see them all in one small bag was such a blessing.
- And an acquaintance who said she was passing by and dropped us off one of my favorite things- she didnt even know this was one of the stalls I’d trouble Cliff to buy from before we left Singapore. 😭
