So while Papa is at the fundi’s (Swahili for mechanic), Mama’s got a Bajaji (tuktuk) to take the kids home.
My kids were saying, “Who needs a roller coaster ride when you’ve got this!”
Now I understand how Bajajis can flip over on roadsides— it’s the rains that make the dirt roads so slippery and bumpy.
I honestly just love their can-do attitude and resilience. 💛
If there’s one single investment I made when my kids were younger that I don’t regret, it’s limiting screen time.
These days, they can go on for hours if needed with their creativity drawing, coloring, creating things… and this has been so helpful in a place where appointments can get cancelled last minute or things break down often. They often pack a bag with items they can create with, and I’m so grateful always to see what they come up with.
If you’re a parent with young kids and wondering how the hard work of limiting screen time will pay off, I’m here to tell you that it will 💛💛💛
