Some days, we have THEMES.
Last week, our theme was “fixing Frankie,” (our 25-yr old car) who had problems starting.
Every morning, we pray as a family for Frankie to start!
Today, the theme was
“ROAD BLOCKS!”
We were supposed to leave for a road trip to town 2 hours away but the moment we left home, we saw this…

… and once we got out of the catacomb of dirt piles used to fix the roads, we were stopped by the roadside as the main roads were blocked to allow for government officials to pass.
After waiting for almost an hour we decided we had to change plans.
Here in East Africa, days like these have taught us much— that if we roll with the punches and stay flexible with changes on the go, we can still have a perfectly good day. Nothing needs to be ruined! Just… re-arranged. Re-routed.
Because of the big detour and our need to return home, I managed to finish work I needed to and even providentially bumped into the ward officer helping us manage our noise situation. It was truly providential.
