Thank you everyone for your kind support & encouragement about the recent video I made on a day in my life as a doctor in Tanzania.🥹 I’m really grateful and glad you liked this video.
Actually, I have something to confess….
Some of you might have realized I posted a reel earlier this week which I took down within 24 hours. It wasn’t anything bad. But I learnt a great deal from it.
For so long, so much of our social media world has told us that to be “popular” and liked, we have to follow a certain formula for “grow quick” results. There’s so much pressure to be well-liked and successful by our world’s metrics. So I thought, yea maybe I’ll try one of those formulas- you know, super-short reels, trending audio, medium caption… but after I shared it, I felt completely flat. It just wasn’t… me.
And maybe you felt it, maybe the universe and God wanted me to know it because THANKFULLY, it was a flop. For some reason, it fared poorly. Engaged poorly.
It was then I realized I didn’t need to try and follow a formula to be more than I already am. So I dug out this video I made weeks ago but was too afraid to share cos it’s not short, or punchy and doesn’t follow any of the IG quick fix formulas out there. But it’s me.
So if you’re a content creator out there or just a normal person like me who likes to share stories on social media, please know that perhaps the best gift you can ever give yourself AND the world is the gift of being who you are, without the “sure win” formulas.
Ditch the cheat sheets. Be you.
