We’ve been brainwashed into believing this—would we turn the tide?
So the backstory to this is that at several junctures of my life just before I felt led to step out of my comfort zone to obey God, I often received a message from someone or other saying, “But you need an extra degree.” Or “Who do you think you are?” Or “But you will fail because you aren’t qualified.”
Recently, when I offered myself for deployment again for the outbreak in East Africa, an ex-boss texted me to let me know, without ambivalence, that I truncated my own growth by leaving him for Tanzania. “You aren’t even qualified,” came his text.
That week, I carried a heavy heart. But God reminded me that He uses us not because we are great or because we are smart, or even because we are well-prepared or equipped. Instead, He uses us in spite of the fact we may not be any of those things.
And that’s what I wanted my kids to know. So this is what transpired.
