In a season of discouragement and disappointment, how can we model the right response for our kids? I hope this blesses you đź’›
Just to share a more nuanced lesson behind this— i took time to explain how feeling sad or having big emotions DOESN’T mean we are weak. On the contrary, it’s brave to face our scary feelings! Instead, to be “softened” like a potato might mean choosing to remain fearful and victimized, or even blending into the environment and losing oneself without holding onto one’s values.
Being “hardened” on the other hand, can seem perfectly fine and even applauded by the world as they see this as being “strong”. But only God knows your heart and whether you’ve let Him in to help you through.
We talked about being like tea, how when hardships transform us, we can turn pain into meaningful purpose to bless others.
As I remind myself of this this season where I feel challenged on many counts, I hope this blesses you too.
