My mind has been blown waking up every few days to a different city.
For those of you who know my history of postpartum depression in Canada, revisiting this country is always hard for me, especially in the grey winter.
Every where I look is a reminder of where I used to struggle through those hard days. I asked God to help me through the coming days in the last leg of the book tour, and He answered in the most creative way, by cloaking the entire city in vibrant bright snow as soon as I landed, as if to comfort me that He makes all things new.
This has only been the second time it’s snowed all winter, so it feels extra special.
This is Cliff, opening doors for elderly ladies and moms with strollers, since the day I’ve known him.
This time, he spotted an elderly couple hobbling towards the store from ten feet away and held the door open for them in subzero temperature.
The elderly grandma was so moved that she kept exclaiming, “OH MY GOODNESS, YOU! OH MY GOODNESS!”
Her elderly husband looked gratefully at me so I smiled and said, “This is why I married him.”
They both laughed before the elderly grandpa stopped to tell me, “HE IS YOUR BEST SELECTION!”
I couldn’t agree more.
