This month, my heart has been full quietly observing the love between these two girls.

I buy each of them ice cream cones and my 4-year old’s cone smashes headlong onto the seat before she takes the first bite.
I watch for an explosive reaction but there is none. My 6-year old’s hand has already reached out, “Don’t worry Meimei (little sis), it’s OK. We can share.”

My 6-year old: “When we get to the playground, I’ll make sure I protect you. I’ll follow you wherever you go.”
My 4-year old: “You’re my good sister. “
“So where do you want to go? Slide first?”
