Lately, in all seriousness, I asked my children a series of questions,
1. Is Mama spending enough time with you?
2. Does Mama need to play more with you?
For the first time in my life, I heard the answers I thought I never would.
“Yes Mama you’re spending enough time with us now. No, you already play a lot with us. I am really happy.”
I went on to ask a third question.
“What is one thing you want me to do more of for you?”
This is when the tears got me because each of my girls answered,
“Mama, I want you to rest more so you have less pain.”
“Mama, I want you to feel much better.”
This was their chance to ask me FOR something. Instead, they gave something dear back to me instead.
