As I was reminded of the importance of having a “growth mindset” in the face of setbacks, I decided to share this with my kids too.

In simple words, I shared that when we learn new things like cycling or cooking, we can choose to be a jar that says, “I’m full, I can’t learn any more.” Or we can be saplings that grow to become trees.
The idea is to increase our kids’ tolerance for discomfort and frustration by anticipating them.
