The last two times I was in Canada as a new mom, struggling in a valley, this hole-in-the-wall bakery was what kept my spirits up.
When Sarah-Faith, aged 2 then, suffered from severe eczema that did not respond to treatment and we feared giving her anything with milk or egg in it, one of the bakers of this shop would chop watermelon (from his own personal stash as the shop doesn’t serve fruit) just for us.
Today, we returned, three years later, with Sarah-Faith’s skin now like porcelain, in spite of the harsh weather, grateful for this miracle we’d been praying for for years….
and touched they still remember us.
Thankful for Cliff who slid in first in line for me when the egg tarts came out fresh, after I’d been told they weren’t ready before.
That’s #truelove 😅
