At times, the best moments are unplanned.
Under the scorching sun, our skin burned. Our patience had worn thin, waiting for the community mobilization truck, for the mobile clinic, for people.
Why was I wasting my time here?
Desperate, we sat under a tree- when all of a sudden came a throng of schoolchildren, houseflies buzzing around their heads, who flocked around me and, unrehearsed, broke into song in unison at the command of their little ringleader, as if they had done this a thousand times before.
Not knowing any better, I followed their actions blindly- only to learn of the lyrics later.
“You know what they are singing? It’s ‘There’s no one, there’s no one like Jesus! They are singing for you, Wai Jia!” cried my local colleague.
There’s no one there’s no one like Jesus, there’s no one there’s no one like Him…
I’ve walked and walked all over,
I’ve turned and turned all over,
I’ve searched and searched all over,
There’s no one, there’s no one like Him.
In our times of dreadful waiting, can come moments of utter delight. May God quench your thirst, and refresh your heart today
For truly, there’s no one, there’s no one like Him.
