We were collapsed hungry and bleary-eyed at the transit airport in Doha at 1am, with frazzled hair and eye masks worn like head-bands, desperately waiting for the layover to pass to carry on another 12-hour journey after our first 12, when we heard a stranger’s voice with a familiar accent, “OMG OMG are you Cliff and… that girl… Wai Jia on that video, with that blog? OMG aren’t you guys in… OMG you’re going home to Singapore! OMG OMG You’re heading back! We’re on the same flight! Welcome home!!”
What a pleasant surprise! What a welcome!
… And was I glad to have captured the priceless look on my husband’s face
on having our first meal back in Singapore, right after the plane landed.
Chinese rice from food court: $3.10.
Look on his face: Priceless.
Simply love this man, satisfied with the simple things in life.
We’re home.
