Over dinner today after drawing up our plans for the big day:
“Wai Jia, do you want to look at more gowns before you decide on the final one?”
“Do you?”
“If you do, I do. If you don’t, then I don’t.”
Pause.
“No, dear. After our one-day outing visiting shops 2 weeks ago, I’m done. You and dad can make the final choice. To be honest, I’m tired of trying on gowns. Aren’t you?”
” Haha, you’re tired of trying on gowns, but I’m not tired of looking at you.”
And I remembered just how happy that day you were to watch me try gowns. How happy you always are to participate in planning the day.
It reminds me of the things in life money cannot buy.
You are truly my diamond ring, through and through.
